This startling message just greeted me:
We are sorry to inform you that James Orlin Grabbe passed away in his home in Costa Rica on March 15th, 2008.
He will be missed, Godspeed Orlin.
Sad news, indeed. I'd just assumed that maintaining his site had become financially unfeasible (he'd been asking for donations before halting operations a couple months ago), and as far as I know, he never let on that he was ill.
There's one source of tantalizing information that I'll truly miss -- and I'm sorry it had to end this way.
