Closing Argument

James Spader just put himself on a lifetime no-fly list.

His electronic communications are now, without doubt, surveilled around the clock.

Check out his character's speech from a recent Boston Legal episode, in which he defends a woman who, in protesting the Iraq invasion/occupation and all things Bush, refused to pay her taxes.

Hard to believe that this scene made it through the ABC corporate gauntlet in the first place. Hard to fathom that it will survive into syndicated reruns.

Sad to say that everything Spader says is not only true, but horrifyingly, numbingly upon us.

UPDATE: Apparently the video link did not work overnight, possibly due to excessive external linking from blogs like ours. We technorati'd the link and found many blogs linking to it. So, we visited the Boston Legal homepage, found that they've changed the link, and have freshened our link to reflect the new location. It should work for you now.
